The Commodores Cup was run and won on Saturday the 19th of October with perfect sailing conditions and a nice long course laid by our race officer Phil Mann. The sailing school was run for the second week of the pre-Christmas program with challenging conditions for our learners who were sent out with instructors on each boat, the smiles on their faces were infectious. Johnny Maher snagged Sailor of the Day awarded by Greg winning a free burrito from Guzman Y Gomez, (hope he shared that with Karen).
The first ROUS event was held on Sunday and a small but committed fleet headed out in gusty conditions for a tour of the lake whilst our guests at the Lunch by the Lake event listened to our expert commentary of the start from the deck.
We had 20 guests for our first Lunch by the Lake event and we might find 2-3 families join as members. Big thank you to Shari, Dave, and Andrew for their assistance on the day.
Next weekend, on Saturday the 26th we have the third session of sail training and Metcalf series races 5 and 6. Come on out and enjoy a gourmet sausage on the deck for lunch or one of our loaded baked potatoes, proving to be very popular. See you at the club.
